Four Things Friday

Just a short post tonight.  Trying to get back into my routines and trying to find time to do everything I need to get done =)

A trip to the park this afternoon.  Weather was beautiful- 70 degrees and sunny.

Two of my three monkeys.  Both of them love to climb.

Junior- junior was all ready to go hunting.  If I could just figure out what he was hunting =)

We brought home a new family member.  Everyone, meet Angel.

Here I am, a couple days over 24 weeks.  Only 16 plus or minus to go =)

Three Things on Friday

Yes, I missed yesterday.  But I have a really good reason.  I had to wait until they got home to get pictures =)

1) Last night Sarge and Girly- girl went out on a date.  A local restaurant offered a daddy- daughter date night.  For the price of your meal (less than $12 for Sarge and Girly- girl) you were treated to a limo ride to and from the restaurant (from a near- by hotel), candlelight dinner service, background piano music and professional pictures.  I think it was a great deal.

But the best part of the night was when Sarge asked Girly- girl what her favorite part of the night was.  “Spending time with you, daddy.”

2)  Junior is now a purple belt.  He’s one of the highest ranking in his Little Dragon’s class.

3) There’s exciting things growing in our household.  Sometime in May, we will be welcoming home our fourth little bundle of joy.  The other three kids are excited, but they can’t agree on if they want another brother or a sister.  Good thing we’re leaving it as a surprise =)

Three or more things

1) Junior- junior celebrated his third birthday this last week.  It’s hard to believe he’s already 3.  Where has the time gone?

021

His birthday cake…  Err, cupcakes.

023

Trying to blow out the candles.  A bit too far away =)

024

Got it!

025

Success!  Sometimes you have to be your own cheerleader.

027

What is a birthday without blue frosting all over your face?

2)  We visited the Dallas Arboretum while the grandparents were here.  Lots of pumpkins and great photo ops.

017

Sarge wants a cottage just like this someday.

 004

I want this water feature someday.

 005

This one was pretty neat too, but wouldn’t last.  The pumpkins would eventually start to spoil.

 013

016

 014

3)  Good to know we won’t have to be spending lots of money on clothes for the kids.  We’ll just let them wear daddy’s =)

  003

4)  Last time we were on vacation, our laptop got stepped on.  I think I finally found the perfect picture as a background.

035

I can still see all the kids =)

5)  Yesterday’s walk to the park was a lot of fun.  Junior rode his bike the whole way and Girly- girl walked/ ran almost the entire way.  Junior- junior, of course, just chilled in the chariot.

030

The turtles were out sunning themselves.

031

033

The only way to go down a slide.

   032

Junior finally conquered the twisted ladder.  It’s hard to keep him off of it now.

Three Things for Thursday

1) My in- laws are coming into town for a couple days.  The kids are so excited.  I’m surprised they’re not up yet ready to go to the airport to get them lol!

2) Junior had the chance to spend some of his hard earned AWANA bucks last night.  He decided to only spend $30 of the $70 he had.  And, he bought 3 identical items.  One for him, one for Girly- girl and one for Junior- junior.  All this without us telling him to.  Gotta love when your kids start thinking about others =)

3)  Finally had a chance to make it to the Dallas Farmers Market.  Why has it taken me this long to realize what a great place it is?  The kids loved seeing all the different fruits and vegetables and keep asking when we’re going to go back.

022

The day we went, they had a kids’ area set- up and the kids got balloon animals.  The boys picked spiders and Girly- girl picked a blue pumpkin…  Because it looked the most like Cinderella’s coach =)

Three Things

Missed a couple weeks again.  Thursdays just sneak up on me and by the time I realize it’s Thursday, it’s actually Friday =)

1)  Junior- junior had an incident last week where his eyes swelled shut.  One doctor said it was just allergies, but the Benadryl did nothing.  Thankfully his regular doctor realized it was an infection and prescribed antibiotics.  Within a couple days he no longer looked like a baby Klingon.

 002

2)  Then he found a marker and wanted a tattoo.

 003

3)  I ran a 10k this last weekend.  I helped a pace a friend in their first 10k and under their goal of 55 minutes.  Funny thing is I still managed to take 3rd in my age group.  So now I have a picture of me with the Pumpkin Dude.

Three Things

1) I love winning blog giveaways.  A couple weeks ago, I got a email that I had won this :

Nathan10_speed4r_front

It came in the mail while we were on vacation, so I finally got it yesterday.  Sarge has already claimed it for himself =)

2) It was a great vacation.  I loved getting to see our friends and family again.  The kids enjoyed spending lots of time with grandparents.

028

3) It’s always a great feeling to get home after a long vacation.  Except now I have no motivation to clean and unpack…

Three Things Thursday

Yeah, I missed a week.  No excuses.  I was just too busy, lazy, not creative…  Take your pick =)  So, here’s the go ‘round for today.

1)  When it’s 100 degrees out, the best accessory is a wool coat and hat.

004

2) I had the chance to catch up with an old friend earlier this week.  We haven’t seen each other since our 5 yr class reunion, but it felt like it was just yesterday.  Gotta love that about good friends =)

003

3) Kale chips are surprisingly delicious.

003

And a bonus one for you since I’m feeling generous =)

Four Things for Friday

I should have posted this yesterday, but I didn’t.  So, I’ll give you four things to make up for it =)

1) When eating sandwiches outside, always double check to make sure there are no bees on it.  The roof of my mouth is still sore.

2) Junior and Junior- junior really want to be like daddy when they grow up.

3) Girly- girl’s room is coming together.  I need to hang the ceiling fan and canopy for her yet and it will be done.

029

4) Everyone needs a picture of their kids by an elephant.

Three Things Thursday

1)  There was a really beautiful sunset the other night.  Lots of lightening and thunder, but no rain.

 DSCF5929

2)  Kids really don’t need a lot of toys to be entertained.  The robot box has gotten a lot of use in the last few days.

3)  Saw this little guy on our way back from the pool.  He was just sitting on top of the truck’s tire.  Didn’t move when we walked by.

Three Things for Thursday

1)  I’m so proud of Junior and how willing he is to help out.  I’m also proud of how quickly he’s learning how to read.  I’m amazed every day by how much more he understands.

2) Crazy, loveable kids.  I can’t imagine what my life would be like without them =)

3) I won another giveaway- a couple months ago, and because of a mix up in the emails, the prize was delayed.  I received it this week and as an added bonus, I got two.  So I’m hosting a giveaway on my facebook page.

I love me some coffee =)

Three things

1) Giveaways are great.  Especially when you win one =)  Today I got The Barefoot Running Book in the mail.  All for guessing how fast the author was going to run a 15k race.

2) Two kids taking long naps results in getting three bathrooms scrubbed without help.  Yup, I live an exciting life =)

3) An easy way to stop hearing “Mommy! I’m hungry!  Can I have a snack?”  They each get a tray filled with food in the morning.  It’s up to them when they want to eat it.  And they don’t get anything else (besides meals =))

3 Things

Almost the end of the day already...  Been a busy day, but here goes =)

1) Paint colors have such cool names now.  It's no longer blue, red, purple and pink.  Instead you can get splish splash, cherry on top, rocker girl and princess pink.  Bet you can't guess what Girly- girl picked =)

2) Girly- girl hit the jackpot.  A friend was cleaning out her girls' closet and gave us 10 princess dresses and 5 pairs of shoes.  As soon as I get pictures of all the dresses I'll have another blog =)

3) I ran 122. 68 miles in June.  Hoping for a few more this month.  Crazy?  Yup.  No arguments there.  And all but about 2 miles were in minimalist running shoes/ barefoot.

Things Times Three

1) It hit triple digits yesterday.  So I took the kids to get some ice cream.

Shakes were the least messy of the many choices.  Thankfully it was buy one get one yesterday =)

2)  Oddly enough the kids wanted a campfire.  The ice cream most have really cooled them down.

3) I got a new pair of minimalist running shoes yesterday.  They have a bit more traction (as compared to my VFF's) so I'm hoping they'll work better for trails.

They're a Kigo Star.  And yes, I did get the green.  My first test run will be tomorrow.
