Christmas Part 2 (a little late...)

Yes, the holidays are over...  I'm just a few weeks behind on everything.  The last post I showed you what I made for our Ladies' Christmas party and our Sunday School party.  This time, I'm going to show you what I made for the kids and for my 3 nieces (who should have gotten the gifts from Grandma by now =))

For the kids, I sewed them each a pair of pj's from fabric that they picked out. 

Junior picked out a tractor print that looks like camoflage.  The buttons are Army buttons

Junior- junior wanted trains, but then wanted cars for the buttons.

Girly- girl picked out pink princess crowns with unicorns for buttons.

My oldest niece loves to bake, so I made her an apron and then added a few dessert cookbooks.

For the niece who loves all things pink and horses, I made a pink purse and added a kit to make three horse bracelets.

For my niece who likes things a little funky, I made a patchwork looking purse and added a kit to make "funky" bracelets.

This is a nice circular tote bag with an extended top.  And I’m sorry, but it does not fit across the body on adults =)

Then we have the Pressley bag.

The Pressley is quilted and has an interior pocket.

It's time for another giveaway =)

Miss Behaving

I made this bag for a friend.  She had challenged me to make a bag that fit her personality =)

This is a fairly large totebag with a lot of pockets.  Four on the front and 10 on the interior. 

It measures approximately 20" wide, 18" high and 2" deep.

Color Explosion Purse

Here's a fun, colorful purse for anyone who likes to stand out!

The purse is fully lined and includes two inside pockets, one on each side.

The purse measures approximately 10"x10"x4".  The straps are 15".

The purse is for sale for $20.

Poppy Bag

A trip to the local fabric store the other day produced this wonderful flowered and striped fabric. I just knew I had to make it into a bag for myself.

I had come across a pattern for a wasp bag and *knew* I had to have one. The pattern came together very easily... I didn't really follow her directions, since I put patch pockets on instead of pockets in the lining. And I didn't include the keyring strap. But otherwise everything was very clearly written and easy to follow :)

The bag is big enough that I can carry all my stuff and some of the kids' stuff in it. I used it at the county fair, and was able to put a lot of the free goodies in there as well.

I'm still in search of the perfect buttons to put on the end of the straps. I want some thing big and bold lol!

The straps are just long enough that the bag sits just under the arm without feeling too tight. I can still open the bag while it's on my shoulder and dig around in it.






Here's a picture of the lining and one of the patch pockets I put on. There's another one on the other side of the bag. They're perfectly sewn to hold pens, cell phones and assorted other things that usually get lost on the bottom of the bag.

The more I look at this picture, the better I like the stripes with the flower trim. Maybe for the next bag I make I'll sew the straps the other way and have the stripes as the outside of the bag :)
