Waiting for them to hatch...

After the snake incident and the ensuing maggot bucket tragedy, we decided we needed to replace some of our chickens.  So, we picked up an incubator and thought we would try hatching some of the eggs that we've been getting.

We choose six of the bigger eggs and placed them in the incubator.

Now the kids get to watch them over the next three weeks and hopefully some of them will actually hatch =)

If it's a success, we'll be starting a new batch every month or so.
