What to do, what to do??

The kids found an interesting way to entertain themselves yesterday.  Not too sure how I feel about it...

And just in case the pictures aren't doing it justice, here's a video of it.

It's been too long...

that I've been out of the sewing room.  But I have good reason- besides being 33 weeks pregnant ;)  A few weeks ago, we decided to rearrange some rooms in the house.  As a result, my sewing room got moved downstairs into the front room that really wasn't being used for much.

So, now I have more room and better natural light =)  It's just taken me this long to get everything reorganized and set- up the way I want it to be.

Yes, that is a display of my running medals...

The majority of my fabric is still upstairs, but I do have a couple shelves in the kitchen pantry for some of the things I use with almost every sewing project.

So now that everything is set- up and organized, I just have to decide what I want to work on first.  With Easter coming up, maybe a new dress for Girly- girl.  Hmm, but wait...  There are a few things that I need to finish up for Sarge first.  And of course I need to think about getting some items to stock in my shop.  It's been low/ empty for too long.

Flower Power

Girly- girl and I went on a walk last night.  It would have been a bit faster, but she needed to stop every few yards...

Look, but don't touch!

The two of us...

All the different types of flowers she was able to pick.  We saw a lot more in the landscaping of our neighbors' houses, but I didn't think they would appreciate us picking those flowers =)

Believe It of Not

This last weekend, we headed over to the local Ripley's Believe It or Not museum.  It was pretty interesting, to say the least.

While the displays inside were a tad *scary* for the younger two, Junior had a blast and wants to go back.  These dinosaurs were more to Girly- girl and Junior- junior's liking.

We also walked through the wax museum.  There was a lot less noise and better lighting, so everyone enjoyed themselves.

There were a lot of statues of other famous people, but these are the ones the kids actually knew =)

Junior- junior was very excited to see this.  Especially since he was wearing his Spiderman shoes.

And this one is especially for my dad:

Ripley's has an awesome military discount ($2 off for inactive and $5 per ticket for active duty).  We don't always ask places if they have a discount, but were really excited to hear about theirs.

Since it was such a beautiful day out, we decided to stop at a park on the way home.  That's one of the nice things about this area.  There are neighborhood parks all over and the majority of them are clean and set- up really nicely.

Yes, he jumped from the top...

Talking to his sister.

Trying to get high enough to talk back to her brother.

Not quite tall enough to use these...

Signs of Spring

Seems like spring is in the air...

My Jane Magnolia is starting to bloom.  I'm happy to see that it survived the cold snap we had =)

And my Texas Red Bud...

But unfortunately, there's too many of these popping up in the yard =(

Fun with Friends

I had the opportunity to watch a friend's kids the other day.  Girly- girl was in heaven.  Someone her own age to play with.

They played so much, that they both took a nice long nap =)

Junior- junior had fun feeding the younger sister.  I'm pretty sure she knows how to feed herself, but obviously had no problem being fed.

Texas Heatwave

While the weather has been really nice here in Texas, it hasn't reached heatwave status yet =)  I'm talking about the Texas Karate Heatwave Tournament which was held on February 26.

This was Junior's first Tae Kwan Do tournament and he was excited!  He competed in the demo category, so like many of my races, got a finisher's trophy- yeah, I know, I only get a medal.

Here he is in action.

Of course, Sarge was very proud and took lots of pictures.

Just to give you an idea of how big the trophy really was.

Sarge and Junior- he's so proud =)

Junior- junior was not too amused with the whole thing.

And Girly- girl was ready to go home as soon as we got there.

Trinity River Levee Run

This last Saturday (March 5), I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Trinity River Levee Run. It was cold and windy that morning and I, of course, was completely prepared for that. Should have remembered to grab my gloves before I left the house lol!

That's me over on the left side (in the pink hat) freezing my butt off. But, it was a lot of fun working the other side of the tables and realizing that yeah, runners certainly are a crazy bunch of people =)
