And they're off!

When it's raining out and the kids can't get outside, they turn the house into a racetrack =)

Who was that flash?

At least it's not me they want horseback rides from...

They all had to have their racing hats on =)

Crimson Sunset Shirt

The elastic smacked waitband on the shirt provide just enough pop of color to keep this shirt from being boring.  Paired with a pair a jeans, it makes a great shirt to wear on warm summer nights.

Contrast binding at the neck with an embroidered leaf pattern add just a bit more allure to the shirt.

The shirt will fit a size medium.

It is for sale for $15.

Flashback Cotton Dress

Flashback to the 60's and a simple cotton shift dress.

Simple lines on this a- line dress make it an easy choice for every day wear.  The dress fits a small/ medium.

Kickin' Back Linen Dress

With three days of gray skies, and Sarge not around to help with pictures, I had to resort to dessing up my dress form and hoping for a cooperative model =)

This is a marron colored linen dress with tone- on- tone embroidered flowers.  The flash on the camera caused the embroided pattern to show up more than it really does.

Three vintage- styled silver buttons with flower embossed on them compliment the embroidered pattern on the dress.  There are two kangaroo- styled pockets at the hips.  The dress zips up the back.

This dress would fit a small/ medium.  It is for sale for $35.

Stripes Away Bag

Chiffon Cascade Scarf

Here's the perfect scarf to add a bit a glam to your spring wardrode.

The weekend in pictures

I say this idea on another blog and thought it was a great idea.  So, here's a recap of our weekend =)

Junior wanted cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  They sure were tastey =)

We spend a lot of time at the park when it's nice out.

Whole wheat buttermilk pancakes...

A sneak peak

Just need to finish up a bit of hand- sewing and then get Sarge to help me with a photo shot...

Rock and roll...

We rode to the park today...  Just because it was so beautiful out (68 and sunny).  And Junior figured out he can climb the rock all by himself.

And this is how we roll.

I also had a lovely surprise when I got home.  A couple months ago I had entered a give- away at Grosgrain.  And I was pleasently surprised to see that I had won!  So, now I get to go shopping at Neige for some cute clothes for Girly- girl.

A bit of a catch up post...

Life has been pretty crazy since we moved.  I haven't had a lot of time to get in the sewing room (now that it's unpacked!), but I have managed a couple projects in the last few weeks.

This first was to help out a friend.  She is starting to sell patterns and wanted someone to proofread/ test out the instructions to make sure they were clear enough.

The pattern is actually designed to make a dress for a toddler.  But, I liked it so much that I may just leave it as a skirt.  Not that I have anywhere that I could wear it...

If you're interested in purchasing the pattern, it can be found here.

My next project was a dress for Girly- girl.  And since she loves Dora...

This last project was part of Girly- girl's Christmas present.  She is definately a little princess!

It's not a very good shot of the crown, but that is what I made.  The instructions for the crown can be found here.

I have a few projects in the works right now.  Hopefully I'll be reopening my etsy shop in the next couple weeks.  Until then, happy crafting!

Been MIA...

It's been awhile since I last posted anything...  And even longer since I posted anything of meaning =)

After the move, I thought I had everything under control.  Almost all the boxes had been unpacked, things were finding their place in the house, and I was starting to get out and about.  I even joined a MOP's group.  But, then things fell apart.

It started after Thanksgiving with some comments my dad had made to me.  And then spending Christmas and New Year's away from family and friends was basically the last straw.  I wasn't happy and it was affecting the rest of the family.

But, the fog has lifted.  I'm enjoying being here now.  I'm getting to know more people.  We found a church home...

I should have more time and energy now to keep the blog updated.  And, with that in mind.  I've separated out my sewing business from this blog.  I'm trying to keep the focus of http://www.designs-by-lynette.blogspot.com/ strictly about sewing and this blog about the daily (or weekly) happenings in our life.

So, for everyone who follows along, I hope you enjoy the change.
